Tom Bridgewater, Founder
Born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand, and growing up as the right-hand man to his father’s every renovation project, Tom was raised with a hammer in his hand. While he briefly put down the tools to embark on an early career in advertising, Tom soon traded in building brands for building exceptional homes, turning his hand back to the construction industry to launch a career in project management.
Starting out as a site-turned-project manager for New Zealand’s most highly regarded commercial construction and fit-out company, Tom’s career inspired an ambitious move to London, where he honed his expertise for his true passion - high-end residential construction, in one of the most prestigious construction markets in the world. Over his five years based in Britain’s capital, Tom was entrusted to lead the construction of some of the country’s most sought-after residences, managing projects for the most distinguished clients, from global business magnates through to members of royalty, with project values ranging from £5,000 to £9 million. Concurrently, he also spearheaded the Small Works division for renowned residential construction firm, Bailey & Jones, overseeing all projects under £1 million and delivering top-tier results on every scale.
Tom’s time in London exposed him to world-class materials, trades, and techniques, alongside the opportunity to manage best-in-class projects and diverse teams. Now back in New Zealand and the proud founder of Bridgewater Projects, Tom draws on his rich international experience to deliver world-class builds in his favourite corner of the world. His vision is to elevate the construction experience for his clients and partners, creating spaces that exceed expectations and stand as a testament to craftsmanship and excellence.
